Red Hills Lake offers the convenience of booking reservations online. Availability can be checked, reservations made, and payment completed online securely, all from with our booking system (all major credit cards are accepted).
Weddings & Events
A license from the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife is NOT required to fish at Red Hills Lake. As a privately owned lake our customers enjoy an exemption from state licensing requirements while fishing on Red Hills Lake property.
Fly-Fishing Classes!
Taught by Kevin W. EricksonLearn the best tackle to have, most effective angling techniques and how to safely and successfully flyfish in any stillwater. Our class provides a total of 10 hours of instruction.

Any member of the military on Active Duty receives Free Fishing Year Around at Red Hills Lake!We are deeply grateful for your sacrifice, and this is only a small expression of our gratitude.

No Overcrowding
No more than six people are allowed on the lake at one time. We have found that allowing more than six people at a time has a negative effect both on the quality of fishing and the ambiance of the lake, so we only book six reservations per day.
Groups Reservations
If you purchase the lake at a group rate (6X the individual rate) you'll have exclusive rights to the lake for the day. Only your party will be allowed - up to 14 people without any special arrangements (for more than 14 people please call to discuss charges and requirements.)Oregon Fly Fishing

Catch & ReleaseThe lake is catch and release, so you know the fish are there. The larger trout in the lake are self-reproducing which means most of them are wild and not so easy to catch unless you use techniques that are proven to work. -
The PagodaTrout are most certainly available at the pagoda area of the lake. This is the deepest spot of the lake & the smaller to medium size trout inhabit this section. This area is a good choice during the warmest months of the year. -
Brian’s BayThe shallow area is at the northern at the inlet. This section is called Brian’s Bay in memory of a fly angler who fished here often and always did the best with midge patterns and a dry line in the shallow end. -
ChallengingThe trout in the lake are quite smart. They have learned to wrap you around the weeds - especially in Brian’s Bay. Brian’s Bay tends to hold the larger trout but is tough to fish. -
Spawning ChannelWith the addition of a spawning channel in 2005, the trout in the lake are self-reproducing. There is no need to plant the fishery or feed the trout because the trout reproduce as they would in the wild. -
Wild FishThe fishery is unique as it is self-sustaining and not artificially created with pellet-fed planters. The trout you catch are not planted but were born and bred in the fishery.
